Simply open the app, lock the screen and go rock climbing with the device in your pocket. When you fall, the app automatically stores the accelerometer data for the fall, recording how long you fell for and how quickly the rope stopped you. This data lets you see an estimate of the distance you have fallen & the rate that the rope slowed you down. The rope slows you down as a function of the quality and the amount of rope that you fell on (more rope stretches further).The G-force meter shows you the max G force the phone was exerted to. Good ropes and small falls should result in lower G-forces! Whether you rock climb using the French, British, Fontainebleau, or UIAA technical grades, whether you lead climb or top rope indoors or out, this tool is great for looking at what your fall, calculate fall factor from the fall distance and see how intense the G-force you experienced was.
